Ok, so it's not for X (but it runs fine in a xterm :-), but I'm a big
fan of Mutt. Especially if you have a favorite editor that you would
like to use to compose your emails with (vim!). The only "catch" is
that you need to be running some sort of MTA (postfix, sendmail, exim,
etc.) -- Mutt strictly follows the Unix mantra of "do one thing and do
it well."
